In Person & Online Worship Service Sundays are at 10:00 a.m.

If you happen to miss church at 10:00, the service is recorded each week and posted on Gloria Dei’s Facebook and YouTube pages so you can always watch the service at your convenience.

Community Meals

Saturday Community Fellowship Meals

Gloria Dei is a partner in serving a weekly community meal, alternating with groups from Faith Lutheran, Harmony Methodist, First Presbyterian, and Emmanuel Episcopal churches. The meals are offered each Saturday from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Harmony Methodist Church, Central Avenue, Coos Bay.   A free will offering is collected, but the majority of our food expenses are covered by grants. Our Saturday meal ministry is a blessing for everyone. The guests are always appreciative of the special menus and our group is pleased to serve. and represent our congregation in the community.  We welcome others to join us!

Community Meals
This group welcomes all people to our monthly meal as well as many people from the community who are not members of Gloria Dei.  We enjoy a lunch each month put on by the Kitchen Team and a speaker from the community about needs and services. We have learned a lot about who our neighbors are in this community and how we might go about working with them.  Check the calendar for the schedule.

Becoming A Member

 
You can become a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in three ways: Through baptism, affirmation of baptism, or by Lutheran transfer. The Pastor offers new member classes as needed. We teach the basics of the Lutheran Christian Faith. You can join with or without the classes, however, they do offer a chance for you to get to know others and our leaders as you join our fellowship. If you are interested in joining, please indicate that on a welcome card in the pews or let Pastor know of your interest. 

Over a few meetings, the New Member Class will cover this church, the ELCA, and engage in a discussion about what Lutherans believe. If you would like to join the group, please let the church office know. And, if you’re already a member but would like a refresher course, you’re welcome to join the class.
